Switzerland is not a conservative party. In the middle to share angry right National Liberal and spherical field. The voters do not know where to choose, out of spite rather national and agree when it comes to something then (usually) different. Left of center one dare not turn away from hopelessly outdated Socialism. Liberalism is but right, they think. Talk of "ultra liberal" and other nonsense blinded, chose the headless errant turns green. At the center of the pendulum swings back and forth.
It would serve well to all that there would be a conservative party in Switzerland:

That these were found only in a conservative party, I think not. Such a party would, however, the profiles of all conceivable forms sharply, including those of left of center. It could find conservative FDP-learning, democratic SVP faster and steadfast CVP learning a new home. And the SP knew now open to liberal-learning that they are fighting a worthy opponent, curb their misuse for the benefit of the country, to make war instead of an enemy of the country permanently divided the spherical or liberals, they feel they really brother.
Why now, as it dawns on me yet so many years?
would be to me personally probably too conservative. But the politics is like sex: the less is prohibited, the more boring it is ... ;)
