The "Süddeutsche Zeitung" of 13 November 2009 reported that the City of Hamburg with the Dutch investor "HANZEVAST" to the repurchase of the artists agreed bestzten Gängeviertel. For a sum of two million euros, the investor was prepared to transfer these Hamburger occupied by more than 200 artists since the end of August vacant houses in the district transitions back to the city. Ca. 150 Hamburg architects had previously appealed to the city and the public, "the district programs for artists, including their use concept for the long term."
